My Experience:

Wow. Wow, wow. Those were literally the first words out of my mouth when I walked into this place. I had originally found out about this place when I was scouting a wedding that I was shooting.. and fell in LOVE. The lobby itself is gorgeous. You walk in and you’re greeted with a beautiful scent and a wall of GREENS. It’s fantastic and I can’t even.

After shooting the wedding I knew I had to stay at this hotel. When we got here for our staycation it was everything I had imagined. The customer service was awesome, kind and so helpful. No judgement for a New Yorker staying at a New York hotel!  He just smiled at my license and told me to have a great staycation. I loved him already.  They were even amazing to hold a package for me for someone to pick up (i sold something on eBay and the guy was from Brooklyn so he came to pick it up!)

We got our room and I got super excited. The hotel is designed by Brooklyn locals and with an aim to be environmentally friendly, they used reclaimed wood and include an in-room purified water fountain with glasses to help you can stay hydrated.  They also boast organic cotton mattresses and 100% organic cotton sheets!! An amazing walk in shower with an overhead nozzle and a very zen vibe throughout the entire rooms.

Every part of the room is designed in the utmost useful and thoughtful way.   There is also an Ipad that takes care of EVERYTHING.  You really never need to leave the bed.  You can order room service, dim/turn off your lights, change the heat/cooling of your room and tons of other services.

The amenities are awesome. The ROBES are KILLER. (I actually purchased one and brought it home because it was perfect.) I love robes and have been on the hunt forever for one. This one was perfect!!! why? First of all, I have experience with oversized robes and hate robes when they have the oversized sagging cuffs.  It makes it very difficult to do things when wearing the robe.  Like washing your hands or face.  But this robe had cuffs that FITTED! It is also SUPER SOFT, comfortable and delightful to live in!

My husband and I had a really good rest staying here. It’s also super close to so many great places to eat too!!  There’s a Shake Shack, Luke’s Lobster, Juliana's Pizza <one of my personal favs!> and Grimaldi's Pizza! And if you’re touring New York City for the first time, this hotel has amazing views of the city!

Another great thing is that they have a coffee shop attached to the hotel.  Espressos, lattes, coffee, pastries and even green and fruit juices!  It's a beautiful space with pretty much everything you need to NOT leave the hotel space.

The 1 also has a beautiful rooftop bar and rooftop pool!!!  The pool was closed since I stayed during the Winter and it’s only open in the Summertime… but I definitely want to try to come back in the future during the Summer and give it a go!!!!

Overall, my experience here amazing and I highly recommend it!
